On 22nd of August 2020, GPR conducted an online workshop with our dearest Rangers; called the Rainforest Diorama Workshop. A follow up of the previous Rainforest In A Jar workshop we conducted for GPR on 8th of August 2020, this time around we want to teach our Rangers on how they can utilize the recyclables in their living space, and turn it from a sight for sore eyes to a piece of decor’ for your room!
The creation of forest-like art pieces will enable the rangers to learn about the habitat and the habitants of the rainforest and at the same time, have an interactive session with our moderators where they can ask questions and participate!
The participants of the workshop consists of Rangers at the age of 9 years old to 12 years old, which is perfect as this workshop is a little more complicated than the previous one and requires a little more handiwork! The activity consists of using recyclables such as a shoebox, old and used papers to name a few, and the rest is up to our creative little Rangers on how they wish to decorate the foliage.
The purpose of the workshop is to help our Rangers visualize the beauty our forest has to offer and how they can envision nature by building simple Rainforest Diorama on their own. We also gave a recording of the workshop to the parents via google drive as well as a manual & guidance in PDF form where they can access it later, re-watch and do more Rainforest Diorama on their own at any given time.
It is always a pleasure to be able to have a session with the bright Rangers, their enthusiasm and curiosity, and their free-spirited little selves interacting with our moderators was such a fun moment for all of us. We look forward to more events and times we could participate with the Rangers again, and hopefully for those reading, you would sign your kids up with GPR too. Don’t miss out on all the quirky moments!
